One of the biggest traps in songwriting is waiting for every idea to become a masterpiece.

Finishing forces you to solve problems. Maybe the chorus isn't working. Maybe the lyrics aren't there yet. Maybe the arrangement completely sucks. Working through those moments teaches you something that constantly starting new songs never will: how to take an idea all the way from inspiration to completion.
