Joe Flacco’s Forgotten Corvette
Imagine winning the biggest game of your life, being named Super Bowl MVP, and receiving a brand-new Corvette as part of the celebration. You’d probably never forget about that car, right?
Well… Joe Flacco apparently did.
During the Michael Hirn episode of The Chris & Mike Show, the guys revisit the story of the Corvette Flacco received after leading the Baltimore Ravens to victory in Super Bowl XLVII. What should have been one of the coolest trophies of his career ended up becoming a great piece of sports trivia.
The conversation is a reminder of how different life can look for professional athletes. For most of us, getting handed the keys to a Corvette would be a story we'd tell for the rest of our lives. When you're an NFL quarterback coming off a Super Bowl championship, apparently a new Corvette can somehow become just another thing in the garage.
Chris, Mike, and Michael have some fun with the story while looking back at Flacco's career, his unlikely place in NFL history, and the strange perks that come with reaching the absolute top of professional sports.
A Super Bowl ring. An MVP trophy. And a Corvette that somehow became an afterthought.
Only in professional sports.
