What draws Shadow C. LaValley to acting? The chance to become someone completely different. He likes stepping beyond his own perspective and bringing a character’s life and energy to the screen—whether the role is a serial killer or someone entirely different.
He’s also found a love for writing. Learning screenplay format took time, but Shadow enjoys putting ideas on the page and watching the scenes play out in his imagination. Acting lets him embody a story; writing lets him build one from the ground up.
Together, the two crafts give him different ways to explore characters and express ideas. Which would you choose: disappearing into a character or creating the story yourself?
